Nani Gutiérrez (*1982. Santiago de Chile) is a visual artist based in Berlin. Through video and illustration she investigates collective consciousness or memetics and loss of reality as a pathology. Digitally drawn bodies emerge into fast loops with GIF aesthetics. Movements taken from public videos are recomposed to illuminate patterns of fate.
Her video works were selected and awarded at Ars Electronica Festival and Backup Festival Weimar. Under her moniker Orca she has become a long term visual collaborator with the electronic composer Hainbach. During the last five years their immersive live A/V show was presented at venues such as Kantine am Berghain, Uebel & Gefährlich, Acud Macht Neu and Arkaoda.
